Murgh Cholay /Chicken Chickpea  Recipe


Preparation Time  10 Minutes

Serve                    4

Ingredients:

Chicken   1/2 kg

Chickpea    250 g

Onion 1

Cumin seed   1/2 tsp

Tomato   2 

Yogurt 1/4 cup

Ginger garlic paste    2 tbsp

Red chili powder  2 tsp

Coriander powder   1 tsp

Turmeric powder  1/2 tsp

All spices powder   1/2 tsp

Black pepper crushed   1/2 tsp

Salt  to taste

Oil   1/4 cup

Ginger julienne for garnish

Coriander leave for garnish

Green chillies  2 to 3

Water as required

Method:

  1. In a bowl soaked chickpea for 2 hours.
  2. Add soaked chickpeas in 8 cup water and boil on low heat for 2 hour .
  3. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seed and allow them splutter add  onion fry onion until golden.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste fry for few minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes cover and cook over medium heat until the tomatoes are mushy oil released from the sides.
  6. Now add chicken cook until the color change.
  7. After this ,add red chili powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder, salt,black pepper stir fry chicken pieces until they begin to take color .
  8. Then add whisked yogurt cover and cook until chicken is tender .
  9. When chicken is tender add boiled chickpeas stir them in.
  10. Adjust the consistency of gravy by add water now add all spice powder ,green chillies and coriander  leave .cook for  2 minutes 
  11. Garnish with ginger julienne
  12. Murgh cholay is ready.
  13. Serve with naan 
  14. Enjoy!
