Meethi Seviyan Recipe / Sweet Vermicelli

Ingredients:   

Vermicelli   200 g

Ghee   2 tbsp

Milk  500 ml

Sugar   1/4 cup as per taste

Cardamom powder  1/2 tsp

 Almond   4 to 5

Raisin  1/4 cup

Pistachio   4 to 5

Cashew   4 to 5

Method:

  1. Break the vermicelli and set aside.
  2. Chop the dry fruit and set aside.
  3. heat ghee in a deep bottom pan. add vermicelli and roast till fragrant and golden brown. keep the flame low. One done. remove heat and keep aside.
  4. Boil milk in a pan add sugar and allow it to dissolve. add all the chopped dry fruit, stir them nicely.
  5. Add vermicelli stir and mix well. Continue to stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cardamom powder and stir well.
  7. The mixture will start thickening and the vermicelli will also absorbed milk. when all the milk has been absorbed, switch off  the gas.
  8. Serve meethi seviyan hot or cold. Decorate with chopped nuts.
  9. Enjoy!

Note:

  • Dry fruit of your choice can be added.
  • You could double or triple the recipe if you need more quantity.
