Sabudana or Sago(Tapioca  Pearl)  Kheer Recipe

Ingredients:

Sabudana or sago( Tapioca Pearl)  1/4 cup

Sugar   4 tbsp

Water  1 cup

Milk  1 cup

Cardamom  powder 1/4 tsp

Raisin  2 tbsp

Almond  chopped 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash the sabudana (sago) pearl properly in running water to clear the starch.
  2. Take a bowl and soak the sabudana pearl in water for 3 to 4 hours to reduce cook time.
  3. Take thick bottom pan in which you will be making the kheer.
  4. Put a pan over medium flame, add milk to the pan and continue to cook. keep stirring it till the quantity is reduced to half.
  5. Add sugar and cardamom powder and simmer till the sabudana have cooked well for 20 to 25 minutes on low medium flame.
  6. Keep on stirring often so that the cooked sabudana does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  7. Switch of the flame ,garnish with chopped dry fruit. 
  8. Serve sabudana kheer warm or chilled.

Note:

  • Soaking sabudana in water to reduce the cook time of kheer.
  • You can always add your choice of nuts and dry fruit.
