Aloo Chana Chaat Recipe

Ingredients:

Chickpea  (white)  1 cup

Onion   1 medium

Potato   2 

Tomato   1 small

Green chili  2

Coriander leave for garnish

Red chili powder  1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Chaat masala  1/2 tsp

Lemon juice  1 tbsp

Tamarind chutney:

Tamarind pulp 2 tbsp

Sugar   2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Red chili powder  1/4 tsp

Water   1/4 cup

Method:

  1. Wash and boil potato till tender, drain the potatoes, peel, and cut into small cubes set aside.
  2. In a bowl add chickpea and water cover and let it soak for overnight or 8 hours.
  3. Drain the soaking water and wash with water, add soaked chickpea in large pot add water and salt cover and cook for 2 hours, until chickpea are tender.
  4. Take a bowl add potato cube, chickpea, onion, tomato, red chili powder, green chili, coriander leaves, tamarind chutney, lemon juice, salt and chaat masala mix well.
  5. Garnish with green chili and coriander leave.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Tamarind chutney:

  • Put tamarind pulp ,salt ,sugar, red chili powder and water in the pan and cook for minutes.

Note

  •  For tamarind pulp soak the tamarind in hot water for about 15-20 minutes till soft the pulp.
  • Strain the tamarind pulp and set aside.
