I love my new job, but there’s one thing that always gets in the way of me enjoying it — work. It’s what’s making me miserable at times, and it’s constantly bugging me with endless deadlines to get done within a certain amount of time. And it’s nothing more than a problem.

Like any other day, I start off by checking all the websites before leaving home that offer jobs available as well as those for people who have skills relevant to mine. After a few minutes of surfing I click on an ad on one of the top sites, which leads me into some pages with applications. The first application came up on this site, so I give it a go and apply to it right there. Everything is okay until a couple days later when something unexpected happens. My bank account suddenly has no funds. So, I call up two friends: one from home, who has experience in managing money, and another one, who has a degree in banking and has been working for years, and he helps me change the balance on my credit card. The second friend offers to open up his own online store, just like how things are now on Amazon. In about 2 hours we launch our business, and as soon as I saw this opportunity, I thought this was going to be easy. What would all the work I had done on previous projects end? But then, things didn’t end well, not exactly. Just a couple days after launching, we received yet another project and with only a week left for us to complete it, my bank account went down again. That was enough to make most of the stress disappear. Luckily, with help of my best friend, she found out where I couldn’t access this personal data and helped fix the issue. We started up over the weekend, and we’ve so far managed to finish 6 projects. All 4 were worth very little compared to others of the same kind. We’re still figuring out the exact value of these projects, but they’re starting to bring back some peace of mind.

That being said, let’s talk about what happened to my bank account,
shall we? Well, a few days ago we received an email informing us that the account would no longer allow payments due on January 28th. Since that date, no debit or credit will be able to be made. Even though I have multiple accounts, each of them having their limits, that won’t stop someone from using it as a payment for their purchases if it’s possible. When you use PayPal for example, your bank account automatically adds both of its money to the transaction on any purchase you made. It’s basically like automatic payouts for every single purchase you’ve made. This means the account doesn’t count anymore and that someone can pay more than once without paying anything. Of course, this means we’ll have to wait a while until my money can finally reach my bank account again. On the bright side, since everyone uses PayPal this means I don’t have to keep adding new payments for everything, so I’ll have time on my hands to focus on my main sources of income instead. Hopefully, I’m able to manage to stick with just one source of income for a couple weeks until I’ve paid everything for 2021. Then I’ll come up with a plan how I should handle that money.

A good idea was never going to come to pass. But guess what? That gives me time to look around, assess options and maybe come up with another plan for next year. The future will tell me what to do next.
