Raw Mango Sweet And Sour Chutney Recipe/ Kerry Ki Chutney

Serve                          4

Ingredients:

Raw mango /Kerry 1/2 kg

Ginger   2 inches

Nigella seeds   1/4 tsp

Sugar    1 cup

Vinegar  1 tbsp

Crushed  red pepper 1/2 tsp

whole red chili 5 to 6

Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash and peel raw mango peel the skin using sharp knife and cut into small pieces. discard the seeds.
  2. In a pot add 1 cup water add raw mango boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Now add sugar, salt,ginger sliced, crushed red pepper bring this mixture to a boil.
  4. Once the mixture comes to boil, turn the heat to low and let it cook for 20 to 30 minutes. sugar will dissolve as the mixture cook. stir the mixture every few minutes.
  5. Add whole red chilies, nigella seeds and vinegar.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes and then turn off the stove.
  7. As the mixture cool it will thicken.
  8. Once the mixture has completely cooled, it can be kept in air tight container in the fridge.


Note:

  • Always use a fresh and dry spoon while taking out eat.
  • You can use instead of white sugar, brown sugar jaggery.
  • Make sure use unripe mango they are also called green mango or kerry.

Raw green mango are eaten as a snack and are also popular ingredient in Pakistani cooking.  It is also used to make different types of pickles, chutneys.
