Ingredients:

Yellow lentil 1 cup

Turmeric powder   1/2 tsp

Onion 2 medium chopped

Red chili powder  1 tsp

Coriander leaves   1/2 cup

All spice powder   1/2  tsp

Chaat masala  1 tsp

Green chili   2 - 3 chopped

Dried mango powder   1 tsp

Coriander seed crushed  1 tsp

Salt to taste

 Oil for frying

Samosa strips are required

All-purpose flour 2 tbsp

Water as required


Method:

  1. Wash yellow lentil with water and soak in water for 1 hour.
  2. In a pot soak the yellow lentil with water, and bring them to a boil. Until tender.
  3. Strain it, and throw all the water.
  4. Finely chop onion, green chilies, and coriander with a knife.
  5. In a wok add oil add onion saute for 1 to 2 minutes, add red chili powder, salt, coriander seed, turmeric powder, chaat masala, all spice powder, and dried mango powder mix well. 
  6. Add yellow lentil, coriander leaves, and green chili mix well and cook for 2 -3 minutes and mash well.
  7. Turn off the heat, and let it cool down.
  8. In a bowl add all-purpose flour, add water, and mix well to make a smooth paste and set aside.
  9. Take samosa Strips (patti) and a make pocket, add filling in the center roll into the shape of a samosa, and seal corners with all-purpose flour and water paste.
  10. Heat oil in a wok once the oil is hot, simmer the heat to low. Drop the samosas in medium hot oil and fry on low heat until golden brown.
  11. Keep stirring them every few minutes.
  12. Drain on a tissue paper towel.
  13. Serve hot with ketchup.
