Aloo Pakora Recipe(Potato Fritters)

Ingredients:

Potato  3 medium

Gram flour   1 cup

Red chili powder   1/4 tsp

Chaat masala  1/4 tsp

Cumin powder  1/4 tsp

Coriander seed crushed  1/4 tsp  (optional)

Salt  to taste

Water as required

Oil for frying

Method:

  1. In a bowl add gram flour, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander seed, chaat masala, and salt mix all the ingredients except water.
  2. Add water and keep whisking until you have a nice flowing batter. It should not be a very thick batter. The batter should be of coating consistency and set aside.
  3. Wash and peel the potatoes. Thinly slice them with a knife.
  4. Dip a potato sliced in the batter to check the batter's consistency. It should coat the potatoes completely.
  5. Heat oil in  a wok, bring the oil to a medium heat.
  6. To check if the oil is ready for frying. Dip the sliced potatoes in the batter make sure coat completely.
  7. Add to the hot oil. Cook on low medium heat till the potatoes are golden brown. It will take about 3- minutes per side to cook through.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to remove the pakoras, and drain on kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with chutney and ketchup.
