Kathiawari Cholay Recipe

Ingredients:

Chickpeas   250 g

Potato  boil cube 1

Red chili powder   1 tsp

Red chili flakes   1 tsp

Turmeric powder  1/4 tsp

Tamarind pulp   2 tbsp

Tomato ketchup  2 tsp

Corn flour   2 tbsp

Onion  1 chopped

Tomato   1 chopped

Green chili   2

Chaat masala as required

Coriander leaves  1/4 cup

Curry leaves  10 to 12

Salt  to taste

Papri  for serving

Water  as required

Method:

  1. Soak white chickpeas for 6 -8 hours or overnight.
  2. Now wash and drain the soak chickpeas .
  3. Boil soaked chickpeas in enough water, and boil for 50 minutes on medium flame.
  4. When chickpeas are soft, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, red chili flakes, chaat masala and salt mix well.
  5. Add tamarind pulp, tomato ketchup and mix well.
  6. Dissolve corn flour in water and gradually add corn flour paste mix well to cook until the gravy thickens.
  7. Add potato and mix it cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add tomatoes, onion, green chilies, curry leaves and give it a quick stir.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander chaat masala and papri .
  10. Kathtiawari choley is ready to serve.
  11. Serve hot.
  12. Enjoy!
