Ingredients:

Rice   500 g

Potato  4 to 6

Onion  1 slice

Green chili   3 to 4

Turmeric powder  1 tsp

Cumin seed  1 tsp

Clove  3

Cardamom 2

Cinnamon stick 1

Ginger garlic paste  1 tbsp

Tomatoes   2 large

Red chili powder   2 tsp

Coriander powder 1/2 tsp

Salt  to taste

Oil  1 /4 cup

Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pot add  onion fry till golden brown.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste add clove, cumin seed, cardamom,cinnamon stick, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and potato and add 1 cup water cook about for 10 minutes by this time tomatoes will be soft  and potatoes are cooked.
  4. Clean and wash rice.
  5. In a separate pan add water add salt, add rice and wait for one full boil, after that strain them,throw all water.
  6. Add rice in a  gravy add 1 cup water bring it to boil add green chili and coriander leaves.
  7. Cook on low flame until rice is done for about 10 to 12 minutes.
  8. Switch of the flame and do not open the lid.
  9. Aloo ki tahari is ready.
  10. Serve with raita and salad.

Note :

  1. The amount of water to be added  to the rice depend upon the rice quality
  2. Monitor the quantity of water while cooking rice.
